Allergic reactions, like hay fever, happen when the immune system erroneously determines something harmless is dangerous. For hay fever, this substance is an airborne allergen such as pollen from grass or trees. The immune system responds by releasing a chemical called histamine. The histamine causes cold-like symptoms such as red, itchy eyes, a runny nose, or a skin rash.

Fexofenadine is a prescription strength, non-sedating antihistamine which is used to treat allergic rhinitis (hay fever) in adults. This medication is available from Fairlop Pharmacy as 120mg tablets.

How does fexofenadine work?

Fexofenadine is a non-sedating (non-drowsy) antihistamine that works to prevent the effects of a chemical produced in the body called histamine.
